EUGENE, Ore. (UCFKnights.com) -- Members of the UCF track and field team competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at the University of Oregon's historic Hayward Field on Thursday.

The Knights' 4x100 meter relay team of senior Kirsten Nieuwendam, juniors Christal Peterson and Briana Vaughn, and sophomore Jnea Bellamy was the first to hit the track. The squad crossed the line in 45.32 seconds to place 21st overall.

Bellamy then went on to compete in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events. The Miami native's time in the 100 was her fastest ever, but it wasn't enough to advance to Saturday's finals.

She recorded a personal best mark of 11.46 seconds, placing fifth in her heat and 20th overall. Bellamy then ended the night with a time of 23.47 seconds in the 200, placing eighth in her heat and again 20th overall.

This marked the seventh straight season and the eighth overall that UCF has sent student-athletes to the outdoor championships. Bellamy was one of just 11 runners across the nation to compete in both the 100 and 200 at nationals.
