JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -- Throwers Tara Daniels and Kalen Hambrick from the UCF track and field team got in one final competition Friday before heading to the American Athletic Conference Championship meet next week.

Both student-athletes competed well, as Daniels set a personal record in the shot put and Hambrick was three hundredths of a meter off of hers in the hammer throw.

Daniels placed second in the shot with a mark of 14.37 meters. Her previous best this season was 13.67 meters. Hambrick took second in the hammer, recording a distance of 56.33, which was just her second mark over 56 meters on the season.

Anne-Marie Blaney also made the trip to Jacksonville, running unattached during her redshirt outdoor track season. She set a personal record herself, crossing the line in 4:25.05 to win the 1,500 meter run. It would have been a school record if she were competing for UCF this spring.

UCF is set to head to Storrs, Conn. on Tuesday. The American Athletic Conference Championships begin Thursday, May 14 and run through Sunday, May 17.
