GOLD RIVER, Calif. (UCFKnights.com) -- The UCF rowing team used three top-20 finishes on Lake Natoma to close out the 2015 NCAA Championships 19th in the team standings on Sunday.

"I'm so proud of everything (the team) has done this year," UCF head coach Becky Cramer said. "They've worked so hard and we've come this far. It's exciting to see the energy and the potential for what's going to happen next, but they've done so well this year and accomplished great things. I'm so proud of them."

In the first race of the day was the Varsity Four squad in the D Final. The boat, consisting of Catherine Harms, Carly Burleson, Lauren Wasko, Annie Thompson and Rachael Klunder, jumped out to a lead from the start.

Enjoying an open-water lead for most of the race, the Black and Gold won the D Final with a time of 8:16.759 and finished 19th overall.

The Second Varsity Eight boat, consisting of Kristen Taylor, Ashleigh Boyd, Andrea Krebs, Jasmine Blais, Amy Compare, Alison Ponce, Julia Chase, Danielle Taylor and Abby Justinger, held an early lead in the D Final.

At the 500-meter mark, the Knights held a slight edge over Gonzaga, but the Bulldogs made a push by the 1000-meter mark and held on for the D Final win. With a time of 7:12.407, UCF's Second Varsity finished 20th overall.
