GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -- The UCF 4x800 meter relay team highlighted the Knights' competition on the second day of action at the Pepsi Florid Relays, setting a new school record and winning the event in a time of 8:38.75.
The foursome of Caroline Pauls, Ne'Ausha Logan, Amelia Williams and Rosie Chamberlain broke the Knights' previous program best of 8:59.49 set back in 2012. Both Logan and Williams were on the relay team in 2012 as well.
UCF's 4x400 meter relay team topped its season-best time set on Friday, placing ninth in a time of 3:39.44. The Knights' 4x100 meter relay squad placed third in 44.49 seconds, just .03 off of their season-best.
Kalen Hambrick and Tara Daniels handled the individual competition on Saturday. Hambrick took part in the invite only hammer throw, recording a distance of 54.06m/177-04 to place 11th. Daniels placed 16th in the shot put with a mark of 13.33m/43-09.00.
The Knights will get back to work next weekend when UCF takes on FIU and USF in a tri-meet in Tampa on April 11.
