ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Trailing 3-0 with two outs the ninth inning, No. 24 UCF rallied to score twice and had the potential game-tying run 90-feet away, but ended up falling 3-2 at East Carolina. Senior catcher Jordan Savinon paced the Knights with a pair of base hits on Saturday afternoon at Clark-LeClair Stadium.
After senior center fielder Derrick Salberg drew a two-out walk, freshman second baseman Kyle Marsh singled through the left side. The seventh quality start was registered up by freshman Cre Finfrock (6-4), who went seven innings with five strikeouts. Three outs were also recorded by senior lefty Harrison Hukari, who tossed the eighth frame.
