WALNUT, Calif. (UCFKnights.com) -- Four top-10 performances, including a pair of top-five finishes by sophomore J'Nea Bellamy, highlighted Friday's competition at the Mt. SAC Relays for the UCF track and field team.
Bellamy placed fourth in the 200 meter dash with a wind-aided time of 23.39 seconds. She also took fifth in the 100, crossing the line in 11.48 (+2.8) seconds. Briana Vaughn was the second fastest Knight in both events, recording times of 11.67 (+1.3) and 23.86 (+0.1) in the 100 and 200, respectively.
Ashley Jocelyn placed seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 54.55 seconds, while Johna' Whitaker led the trio of UCF hurdlers. Whitaker placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles, crossing the line in 13.55 (+0.9).
Devinn Cartwright finished in 13.71 (+0.6) seconds to place 11th and Lia King took 28th in 14.12 (+0.1) seconds.
Freshman Laura Korsmit topped her best time as a Knight in the 5,000 meter run by over 20 seconds, finishing in 17:37.93 to place 21st.
Competition at the Mt. SAC Relays continues Saturday in Walnut, Calif.
