ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - No. 12 UCF fell 15-1 to UConn on Saturday afternoon at the UCF Baseball Complex. The Huskies used a four-run first inning to take control of the contest and pick up the series win.
The Knights (24-12, 3-5 The American) scattered five hits during the game. UCF plated its only run in the eighth inning on a pair of UConn mistakes.
The Huskies' Anthony Kay (5-3) tallied eight strikeouts in the complete-game victory.
UConn was led by Bryan Daniello with three hits including a homer and three runs driven in. Vinny Siena tallied three hits, while Max McDowell recorded two base knocks including a three-run homer in the first inning.
The loss was handed to sophomore Robby Howell (4-4). The Knights' pitchers totaled nine strikeouts in the game.
