WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (UCFKnights.com) -- UCF Rowing advanced three boats to the semifinals at the Knecht Cup on Saturday before weather conditions halted the action on Mercer Lake.

The Varsity Eight squad, consisting of Olivia Hecimovich, Kaitlyn Ward, Lauren Aiello, Viktorija Senkute, Ivana Krkljus, Olivia Staples, Zana Krakic, Ginni Dunlop and Erin Corrigan, posted the fastest time of any heat. The boat finished in 6:37.68 in the first heat to advance to semifinals.
The Second Varsity Eight boat, consisting of Kristen Taylor, Ashleigh Boyd, Andrea Krebs, Jasmine Blais, Amy Compare, Alison Ponce, Crystal Victor, Danielle Taylor and Abby Justinger, also posted the fastest time of any heat. The squad crossed the line with a time of 6:46.14 in the first heat to advance to semifinals.
In the Varsity Four race, UCF's boat consisting of Catherine Harms, Lauren Wasko, Annie Thompson, Kayla Thieken and Brianne Addison, finished second in the fourth heat, advancing to the semifinals on Sunday. The squad finished in 7:43.76, just behind Boston College.
In the Varsity Four and Novice Four races, the top three places in each heat, plus the next three fastest times advance to the semifinals. The Varsity Eight advances the top three finishes in each heat to the semifinals. In the Second Varsity Eight races, the top four boats in each heat, plus the next two fastest times advance to the semifinals. The Third Varsity Eight races advance the top two boats in each heat, plus the next two fastest times to the finals.
UCF's Novice Four and Third Varsity Eight will compete on Sunday, along with the three advancing boats from Saturday's races.
