LAKE WORTH, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -- The UCF men's golf team led the FAU Slomin Autism Invitational from wire to wire, taking their first team title of the season. Sophomore Ryan Stovash paced the Knights, en route to medalist honors.

UCF rode a red-hot first-round tally of 279 to a huge early lead, then played solid golf the rest of the way to take a 13-stroke victory over second-place Connecticut. The Knights finished the 54-hole event at 11-over (863), while the Huskies were 24-over (876) for the tournament. It was a 20-team field.

While the Knights led start to finish as a team, Stovash took the individual lead in the second round, after posting a 67 Saturday. His third-round score of 73 was 2-over, but was enough to hang on to the lead and pick up his first collegiate victory.

Fellow sophomore Federico Zucchetti also turned in a solid tournament, finishing tied for 10th. Zucchetti used a 3-under first round to climb the leaderboard early. He finished the tournament at +3 to tally his first Top 10 finish of the season.

Senior Linus Vaisanen finished tied for 17th at 6-over, while freshman Manuel Elvira was just one shot behind and tied for 26th. Senior Jose Joia (+11) rounded out the UCF lineup, finishing tied for 47th.
