STATESBORO, Ga. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team was paced by sophomore Ryan Stovash and freshman Manuel Elvira in Friday's first round of the Schenkel Invitational.
Stovash fired a 3-under 69 on the Forest Heights Country Club track Friday. He is currently tied for 11th place in the field of 90 golfers. Also in the Top 20 is teammate Elvira. He carded a 2-under 70 and sits in a tie for 17th place.
Federico Zucchetti and Linus Vaisanen both recorded scores of 76 (+4), while Jose Joia was 5-over (77). Juuso Kahlos, taking part as an individual, was also 5-over on the day.
As a team, the Knights are 3-over par and in 12th place among the 15-team field.
