ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF men's basketball team shot 52.3 percent from the field, but allowed East Carolina to hit a staggering 57.1 percent of its shot as the Pirates came back to defeat the Knights 71-66 Saturday at CFE Arena.

It was a disappointing loss for the Knights, who wanted to send seniors Kasey Wilson and Myles Davis out with a victory in their last game in front of the home fans. Wilson and Davis were honored prior to tip-off for their contributions to the program.

"I just want to thank Kasey and Myles," UCF head coach Donnie Jones said following the game. "Those guys have been huge for our program. It was a disappointing loss. I want to make sure we give those guys credit for what they've done for our school and obviously for our program."

Wilson scored five of his seven points in the first half to help lead the Knights to a 31-25 advantage at the break. It was freshman Adonys Henriquez who led the way, knocking down a trio of three-pointers for 10 points through the first 20 minutes of action.

After a layup by Wilson to start the second half, ECU used an 11-2 run to take its first lead of the game, 38-37, just four minutes into the final frame. The Knights regained the lead with eight straight points, including five from junior Shaheed Davis, to make it 45-40.

Junior Daiquan Walker put UCF up 64-61 with just 2:38 to play, but six straight from the Pirates put ECU back on top for good. Terry Whisnant hit a dagger of a three-pointer with 1:04 on the clock to give the Pirates at 66-64 advantage they never relinquished.

Henriquez finished with a team high 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc, while freshman B.J. Taylor totaled 10 points on 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Sophomore Brandon Goodwin chipped in with nine points and a game high eight assists.

"Everybody was thanking me, but it's really about me thanking them," Wilson said after the game. "They've been with me all four years, they've gotten to know me, watched me grow as a person and a player. It was special to have so many people that I don't know come up to me and say thank you."
