NEW ORLEANS, La. (UCFKnights.com) - Conditions were less than ideal Monday, as wind and cold forced the UCF women's golf team slide back five spots to tenth at the 2015 Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.
Only six of the 81 players in the field were able to card second-round scores of par or better at the English Turn Golf and Country Club; only two of those eight shot below par.
The best score of the day for the Knights was a 78 (+6) by senior Fanny Cnops. She tallied eight pars on the back nine including six-straight to finish the round.
UCF Sophomore Ashley Holder and senior Monifa Sealy posted matching rounds of 80 (+8) on the day. Holder has the best two-day total for the Knights at 153 (+9).
Freshman Laura Sojo and junior Paola Robles rounded out scoring for the Knights turning in scores of 82 (+10) and 84 (+12) respectively.
In team play, LSU continues to hold the lead by just one shot with UCLA and tournament host Tulane tied for second. Arizona is fourth and Florida currently holds the number five spot.
Weather will to continue to be a factor as the Knights look to move back up the leaderboard in Tuesday's final round. Scattered showers are expected throughout the day, with high winds gusting up to 15 miles per hour and a high temperature of just 53 degrees.
Final round action is slated to begin Tuesday at 9 a.m. Click here to follow the Knights with live scoring.
