MEMPHIS, Tenn. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF women's basketball team turned it on in the second half but there simply wasn't enough time to steal a win at Memphis.

Still without head coach Joi Williams on the sidelines due to a death in the family, the Knights fell 65-49 to their foe for the second time this year.

UCF outscored the Tigers in the second half, 34-32, and the Knights more than doubled their offensive production, netting 13 field goals compared to just five before the break. But it couldn't compensate for the slow start.

Freshman Fifi Ndour continued her string of recent success by leading three Knights in double figures with a game-high 13 points. She has a streak of three-straight games of at least 10 points and has led the Knights in scoring in two of their last three outings.

Aliyah Gregory and Zykira Lewis each chipped in 12 points while Stephanie Taylor grabbed a season-high 9 rebounds and Jordan Jackson brought down a career-high 8 boards.

Memphis' press proved to be too much to handle in the first half. UCF was held to 4 points in the first 11 minutes and flustered into committing 14 turnovers by halftime.

Meanwhile, the Tigers funneled their offense through their frontcourt, picking up 20 of their points in the paint. By the break, they commanded a 33-15 lead.

The Tigers opened up their lead to as much as 23 points in the second half, and although UCF corrected its form, the gap was too much to overcome.

The Knights will enjoy a bye weekend before returning to Orlando for their final two home games of the year, both of which will air on ESPN3. UCF meets Houston on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. before taking on rival USF in the home finale on Feb. 28.
