ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Maybe it was the new pink shoes and headbands. Maybe it was the rebounding and second-chance points. Maybe it was the team's all-around effort.

Whatever it was, it allowed the UCF women's basketball team to nab a 66-51 win over Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon at CFE Arena.

With head coach Joi Williams out of town due to a death in the family, associate head coach Ken Griffin guided the Knights to their first win over Cincinnati in program history.

Sophomore Zykira Lewis sank 5-of-7 from behind the arc en route to a game high 19 points while freshman Fifi Ndour recorded her second-straight game in double figures with 12 points. Senior Andrea Hines added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Redshirt junior Bryeasha Blair, who averaged less than 1 point for the season, contributed a career-high 9 points.

The game started off slowly for both teams, but more so for Cincinnati who scored just 4 points in the first 10 minutes of play.

Lewis drained a baseline 3-pointer to ignite a spark for the Knights. She and Blair would hit two more from downtown in a two-minute span to give UCF a 19-10 edge with 7:47 remaining before the break.

The Knights extended their lead to 26-14 by working the ball around the perimeter to Lewis for another nothing-but-net trey with 2:40 to go. By the break, UCF had commanded a 30-15 edge, marking the team's largest advantage at halftime over a league opponent since joining the American Athletic Conference.

Lewis' hot hands didn't cool down coming out of the locker room. She hit two 3-pointers in the first three minutes, helping to pad the score, 38-17.

UCF never relinquished control of the game, leading by as much as 22 with 7:20 to go. The Knights outrebounded the Bearcats, 47-28, coming away with 12 offensive boards to outscore their opponent, 11-0, on second-chance points.

Up next, the Knights travel to Memphis for an 8 p.m. tipoff Tuesday night. The Tigers took the first meeting this season, 70-66.
