NEW YORK (UCFKnights.com) - Another record setting performance in the distance medley relay highlighted the UCF track and field team's first day of competition at The Armory Track Invitational Friday.

Three UCF sprinters advanced to the semifinals in the 60 meter dash. Briana Vaughn ran identical times of 7.58 seconds in the prelims, where she won her heat, and the semifinals, where she ended up 16th overall.

J'Nea Bellamy ran 7.59 seconds in the prelims, winning her heat, before running 7.64 seconds in the semifinals and placing 26th. Christal Peterson was second in her preliminary heat in 7.67 seconds, and then ran 7.59 seconds in the semifinals to place 18th. None of the three advanced to Saturday's final.

Devinn Cartwright also advanced to the semifinals, reaching the second round in the 60 meter hurdles. She placed third in her preliminary heat with the 13th best time at 8.63 seconds. She then ran 8.68 seconds to place 17th in the semifinals.
