ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Temple outscored the UCF men's basketball team 37-18 in the first half en route to an 86-62 American Athletic Contest victory Wednesday night at CFE Arena.

The Owls (14-7, 5-3) held the Knights to .292 (7-of-24) shooting from the floor and just .100 (1-of-10) from beyond the arc in the first half. Temple forced seven UCF turnovers and turned them into 10 points to get out to the early lead.

The game was never in doubt as UCF (9-11, 2-7) allowed Temple to shoot .508 from the field and .556 from three-point range for the game. The Owls led by as many as 36 points, at 68-32 with 9:03 to play in the game.

The Knights outscored the Owls by 12 over the final nine minutes to cut the deficit to 24 by the final buzzer.

In the end Temple outscored UCF 44-22 in the paint, 21-13 off of turnover, 15-4 in second chance points and 12-5 on the fast break.

The Owls put four players in double figures. Jesse Morgan led with 15, Will Cummings and Devin Coleman had 14, and Quenton DeCosey chipped in with 13.

UCF was paced by sophomore Brandon Goodwin, who finished with a game high 17 points on 6-of-12 from the field. Junior Daiquan Walker, who came in second in the league in three-point shooting, went 4-of-8 from long distance for 14 points.
