TITUSVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Junior Anne-Marie Blaney won her third meet of the season, as the UCF cross country team won the FL Runners Invitational for the third straight year on Friday in Titusville.

Blaney's time of 17:31.53 on the five kilometer course topped all 132 competitors and was nearly a whole minute faster than anyone. Following her first American Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, Blaney cruised to victory at FL Runners for the third time in as many years.

The Knights put five runners in the top 13 overall to post a team score of 28 points and top the other 13 teams at Chain of Lakes Park. Florida A&M was the runner-up with 47 points.

"The ladies ran tough," Assistant Coach Johnny Gray said. "We weren't expecting it to be so wet and muddy, but under the circumstances, they ran well. Nobody made excuses, and they went out there and competed like champions!"

Freshman Laura Korsmit placed second overall in a time of 18:29.39 to help lead UCF to the win. Holly Wooley was next to cross the line for the Knights, recording a time of 19:02.79 to take seventh place.

Freshman Rosie Chamberlain and senior Amelia Williams rounded out the scoring once again this week, placing ninth and 13th, respectively. The former posted a time of 19:09.43, while the latter came in at 19:18.81.

The Knights will now move on to preparing for their final regular season meet of the year. UCF will compete at the Florida State Invitational next Friday in Tallahassee before The American Championships at the end of October.
