DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF was victorious on Sunday, earning four flight titles at the Juan Varon Memorial Wildcat Tennis Invitational at the Florida Tennis Center. Juniors Sofia Baptista and Clare Mendell captured the Singles A and B titles over teammates freshmen Kennan Johnson and Monica Matias, respectively, while junior Annika Hepp notched the Flight C championship.
The doubles duo of Baptista/Hepp delivered a 6-4, 6-4 win over Kajiwara/Chincilla from host Bethune-Cookman to start the morning on the clay courts.
A pair of all UCF finals were next on the docket as Baptista topped Johnson 6-0, 6-2, while Mendell secured a 7-5, 6-4 win over Matias.
Closing out the final title of the tournament was Hepp with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph against Florida A&M's Dominique Henry.
UCF posted a combined 24-2 mark when not counting matches against teammates. The squad registered an 18-0 record against the field in singles play.
The Knights compete in the Disney Tournament on Oct. 30-Nov. 2 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., to continue fall action.
