STORRS, Conn. (UCFKnights.com) - The streak is over.

The No. 18 UCF women's soccer team saw its impressive unbeaten-conference-match streak snap at 25 games (15th longest in NCAA history) at UConn in Sunday's 1-0 loss.

Not long after UCF goalkeeper Connie Organ recorded her seventh save - a new career high - the Huskies broke through for the only goal they would end up needing for the win.

Forward Julie Hubbard buried it to the upper left corner over a backpedaling, outstretched Organ to end the Knights' shutout streak at 483 consecutive minutes. UCF (13-3-0, 6-1-0 AAC) previously had not lost a conference match since October 2012 and witnessed its current win streak of 10 matches end, as well.

"UConn had a really good game. They really came out and had that fire today, a lot of motivation," UCF head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said. "I thought we fought to the end. I just think some days things don't always go your way, and today was one of those days. I'd rather it happen today than later on. We can keep this feeling fresh for when we go into the conference and NCAA Tournaments. It will definitely be motivation for this team. I always think there is a silver lining. I'm an optimist. So I think we'll learn from this and be a better team for it."

UCF tried to find the back of the net time and again with 14 shots, seven on goal. In the first half, Tatiana Coleman's shot was tipped over the crossbar in a brilliant save by Allison Saucier to bring up three-straight corner kicks for the Knights.

During the series, senior Jennifer Martin's header was saved on the goal line by a Huskies defender.

Organ was credited with five saves in the first half as the teams entered the break gridlocked in a scoreless battle.

After Hubbard notched her third goal of the year, UCF tried to find the equalizer. Arguably the Knights' best opportunity came from senior Alex Piercy's strike in the 79th minute from inside the top of the box, but her shot went wide left.

UCF returns home for its final weekend of the regular season, beginning with Friday's Senior Knight at 7 p.m. against East Carolina.
