Knoxville, Tenn. (UCFKnights.com) - The Knights fell two spots on the leaderboard after the second round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship Saturday. But UCF remains in fifth heading into Sunday's third and final round. Louisville took the lead from Kent State while South Carolina and Missouri each moved up one spot to third and fourth respectively.

After struggling in the opening round, UCF sophomore Ashley Holder charged back Saturday, carding a 70 (-1) in round two. Her efforts helped keep the Knights in contention and launched her 23 spots, up to No. 10 on the individual leaderboard.

"I wanted to avoid big numbers, which hurt me yesterday," Holder said. "I had a lot of good looks at birdie today and just felt confident on the greens."

Last season, Holder was awarded American Conference Player and Freshman of the Year. She led the Knights with 72.8 scoring average and five top-ten finishes.

Head coach Emily Marron said Holder played very well and could have been even lower. She told the players she wants them to focus on their own games in the final round.

"It was nice to see Ashley back in form," Marron said. "Our goal for tomorrow is to do the best we can with every shot and stick to the process."

Seniors Fanny Cnops and Monifa Sealy are both currently in the top 20 individually with sophomore Ayaka Nakayama and freshman Laura Sojo rounding out scoring for the Knights in round two.

UCF is scheduled to begin Sunday's final round at 9:20 a.m.
