ATHENS, Ga. (UCFKnights.com) -UCF goalkeeper Connie Organ set a career high in saves, but an early goal was all Georgia needed to come away with a win on Sunday at Turner Soccer Complex.

UCF (3-2) attacked feverishly and dominated possession of play in the first 10 minutes with three corners and four shots, although none could find the frame. Momentum swung in a matter of minutes when Gabby Seiler threaded a low cross to Rachel Garcia, who slipped the ball past Organ to put the Bulldogs (4-1-1) on the board.

"The goal came from a throw-in on our defensive third, and we unplugged. It's natural for people to unplug on a restart and that's what we did. They took advantage of us and it just came down to a detail. I don't think we responded well after we got scored on. It was disappointing because that's not normally our personality," UCF head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said. "We've got some work ahead of us this week. The only thing you really can do is learn from this and bounce back."

Organ came up with a clutch save on Marion Crowder's 1-v-1 opportunity in the 21st minute to keep the Bulldogs' advantage to 1-0.

After a 65-minute lightning delay cleared the field with 13:57 remaining in the first half, the teams resumed play and the Knights nearly equalized it late when freshman Hannah DeBose sent a perfect through-ball to an on-rushing Coleman. She was tripped up at the top of the box but no foul was called and the score remained steady at the break.

Organ kept the Bulldogs out of the net with Crowder and Garcia's deadly opportunities in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

"Georgia was very dangerous and they're a very good team. I expect they are going to do well this season," Roberts Sahaydak said. "This was Connie's best game so far this season. She did keep us in the game and did her job today. We're proud of her performance."

The Knights recorded their first shot on goal with 16 minutes to play with Saga Fredriksson crossed a ball into Alex Piercy at the top of the box, but her attempt was saved.

Coleman had an open look at the net from the right side after juking her defender, but her attempt went wide right with 10 minutes to play. Ashley Spivey sent a ball toward the net with three minutes to play, but it, too, was saved, allowing Georgia to remain unbeaten at home this season.

Up next, the Knights have a neutral-site matchup against Texas on Friday in Tampa at 4:30 p.m.
