SOUTH KENT, Conn. (UCFKnights.com) - After a long day on the course at Bull's Ridge Golf Club, the UCF men's golf team is in second place at the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
UCF's two-round total of 584 (+8) is just three strokes behind the host school, Hartford, which posted a 581 (+5). Fellow American Athletic Conference member UConn is in third at 588 (+12) in the 19-team event.
Taking part in his first collegiate event of the season, senior Linus Vaisanen paced the Knights in the first two rounds. Vaisanen is at even par after 36 holes, posting scores of 73 (+1) and 71 (-1). That score has him tied for fourth place. Sophomore Federico Zucchetti is also taking part in his first collegiate event of the season. He is tied for eighth at +2 after carding scores of 75 and 71 Monday. Jose Joia is +4 for the tournament and tied for 12th. Ryan Stovash and Thadd Obecny are tied for 21st at +6 after the first day of action.
The third and final round will tee off Tuesday morning.
