UCFKnights.comSUGAR GROVE, Ill. (UCFKnights.com) - A freshman and a senior are leading the way for the Knights at the Northern Intercollegiate, hosted by NIU at Rich Harvest Farms. Manuel Elvira and Jose Joia are tied for 14th at 1-over par after the first round.
As a team, UCF is currently ninth in the 13-team event. The Knights posted a first-round score of 299 (+11).
Freshman Thadd Obecny is tied for 32nd after the first 18 holes, posting a 3-over tally of 75. Freshman Juuso Kahlos and sophomore Ryan Stovash each carded a 78 (+6) to come in tied for 50th after one day of action.
UCF will be back on the course at 8:40 a.m. Saturday for the second of three rounds.
