Radisson UCF Tournament Central
ORLANDO, Fla. - The UCF volleyball team continued its winning ways at the Radisson UCF Invitational, earning a 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-15) win over Northeastern on Saturday afternoon at The Venue at UCF.
After falling behind in the first set, the Knights took advantage of three miscues by the Huskies to take a lead. Once ahead, UCF never looked back. The first set saw five tied scores and four lead changes. The Knights went ahead from the opening serve in the second set and never relinquished a lead, and only allowed a tied score twice in the early going of the third set.
The Knights continued to get production from sophomores Jale Hervey and Kia Bright, as both notched 12 kills to lead the team. Offensively, UCF attacked from all sides, as four players hit at least .420 and the team finished with a .358 attack percentage. Defensively, the Knights held the Huskies to a .020 hitting percentage and recorded six team blocks.
Senior Jade Hayes recorded her third match with double-digit digs, finishing with 17. Hayes has now had tallied at least 10 digs in 30 matches as a Knight. Senior Marie Reiterova and junior Dana Faught each set 22 assists. Faught, Bright, Hervey and senior DeLaina Sarden served up UCF's four aces.
UCF Volleyball, which is presented by Radisson - UCF Area, will close out the two-day tournament against FIU at 7:00 p.m. tonight at The Venue.
