Snyder replaces Joe Simon, who accepted an assistant athletics director position at Clemson.
Snyder will be the lead in the day-to-day supervision of the facilities, sports turf and grounds and event operations departments. He has had direct oversight of the game administration staff scheduling and training that included facility standards, emergency management protocols and event reviews. Serving as the gameday manager for UCF football and UCF men's basketball, Snyder handled facility operations, credentialing, security staffing and TV network logistics for each of the department's athletic programs.
As the liaison to UCF Athletics event-day partners including ticket sales and operations, equipment, video services, communications, sports marketing, stadium concessions, parking services and custodial services, Snyder managed the day-to-day scheduling of UCF Athletics teams' practices and competition dates. He has been appointed as tournament director for NCAA postseason events as the Knights have hosted NCAA women's and men's first round matches, along with the 2014 American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship and several Conference USA Championships.
Since 2010, Snyder has consulted as director of game operations for the Battle 4 Atlantis Men's Basketball Tournament held each Thanksgiving holiday week at the Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas. He is now involved in game-day operations for the inaugural Bahamas Bowl football game to be played Dec. 24, 2014, at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas, featuring teams from Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference.
Snyder, from DeLand, Florida, received his bachelor of arts degree in 1990 from Stetson University with a minor in communication arts. He previously served as owner communications manager for Marriott Vacation Club International, as assistant commissioner of the Atlantic Sun Conference and as associate sports information director and intramurals coordinator at Stetson.
