UCF Rowing Caps Home Regatta With Two Victories

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF rowing team posted two big victories on the final day of its last home regatta of the season on Lake Pickett. The Knights got wins from their Varsity 4 and second Varsity 4 boats as they competed against Miami, Old Dominion and Tulsa.

After the race, UCF celebrated the careers of its five outgoing seniors; Calena Illan, Noelle Crosby, Genevieve Lorbergs, Camille Everett and Carla Ortiz with a ceremony inside the UCF Intercollegiate Rowing Center boathouse.

UCF's 2V4 boat consisting of coxswain: Kristen Taylor, Kaitlyn Ward, Alyssa Combs, Abby Justinger and Julia Chase got the Knights first win with a time of 8:21.82 in the 9:20 a.m. race. The Black and Gold's V4 boat of coxswain: Bre'Onna McNeal, Ortiz, Andrea Krebs, Lauren Wasko and Crystal Victor defeated boats from each of the three opponents with a time of 8:19.84.
