TAMPA, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - A day after blanking Temple in the first round, the UCF women's tennis team was bounced from the American Athletic Conference Championship in a 4-1 loss to No. 39 Memphis Friday in Tampa.

The Knights were the No. 10 seed in the tournament, and finish the 2014 dual-match season with a 7-13 record.

The Tigers advanced to the semifinals as the No. 2 seed, improving to 14-8 on the year.

With inclement weather in the area, action started at 8 a.m., and Memphis got off to a 1-0 start by way of victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.

UCF hoped for a comeback in singles play, and picked up a point at the No. 1 position when Josephine Haraldson boasted a straight-set win over Skylar Kuykendall, 7-5, 6-4. However, the Tigers grabbed three matches en route to earning the fourth and deciding point to move on for the weekend.

Haraldson's win helped the senior finish off her UCF career with 63 singles victories, just three shy of entering the school's all-time top 10 list. She also posted 39 doubles wins since her freshman campaign.

Courtney Griffith also stepped on the court one final time Friday. Beginning with her first season as a Knight in 2010-11, she racked up 50 doubles victories and was victorious in singles 43 times.

Cassie Hochwalt's Black and Gold career came to a close as well, and she delivered three singles wins and a pair of doubles victories during 2013-14.
