AUSTIN, Texas. (UCFKnights.com) - After two days of action-packed racing in Texas, the UCF rowing team finished with five victories and took an overall finish of seventh place at the Longhorn Invitational. The Knights raced a total of 15 times over the course of the two-day regatta with each of its five boats earning a win.
On Saturday morning, UCF matched up with regatta runner up San Diego. The UCF 3V8, 2V4, V4, 2V8 and V8 boats posted times of 7:08.0, 8:04.0, 7:56.7, 7:09.2 and 7:00.9 respectively.
Saturday afternoon saw the Knights matched up with a talented Oklahoma squad. UCF's five boats posted times of 7:13.1, 8:06.6, 7:50.2, 7:01.0 and 6:47.5. The 1V4, 2V8 and V8 boats each improved upon their performances earlier in the day.
Sunday was the most successful session for the Knights as they earned five victories; one over Texas, one over SMU and three over Canisius. Each boat the Black and Gold put in the water tasted victory.
