FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The UCF track and field team completed a successful weekend at the Tyson Invitational on Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Complex. The Knights over the two day meet set eight top indoor marks.
A pair of personal bests were tallied in the 200m dash by sophomore Briana Vaughn, who also eclipsed a season-high, with a time of 24.06, and senior Afia Charles with mark of 24.41. Sophomore Heather Classe completed the 3000m run in a career best of 10:21.11, a new indoor high on the year.
The 4x400m relay team of seniors Erica Winston and Ne'Ausha Logan, junior Kirsten Nieuwendam and Charles shattered the season-best by posting a time of 3:29.50
In the field events, senior Destinee Romain notched a career-high 14.31m mark in the shot put, while a season-best 1.67m high jump was tallied by sophomore Allison Lampert.
The Knights have a week off before traveling to New York, N.Y., for the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championship on Feb. 28-Mar. 1.
