GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF's women's tennis team battled its second straight in-state foe Wednesday, dropping a 7-0 decision at No. 2 Florida to fall to 1-1 on the season. The match was played at the Perry Indoor Tennis Facility.
Also during the day, the Knights announced their match vs. South Alabama Friday has been postponed due to travel issues for the Jaguars. It has been rescheduled for Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. at UCF.
The Gators (3-0) opened Wednesday by taking a 1-0 lead with doubles victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
In singles action, UCF was defeated in the top three matches for the deciding points of the contest. Singles positions' 4-6 then went on the court and the home team captured three more victories for the final 7-0 margin.
UCF will be back at it Feb. 5 when it hosts Bethune-Cookman at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
