LAS VEGAS, Nev. (UCFKnights.com) - Led by freshman Ashley Holder, the No. 23 UCF women's golf team finished tied for second at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Tuesday. Holder took runner-up honors in the event, which was held at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club.

The Knights were fourth after the first round Sunday. Monday's second round was canceled due to high winds, so Tuesday's final round left the tournament at 36 holes. No. 48 San Diego State finished the event with a 3-over total of 579, just two strokes in front of UCF, Texas Tech and the host school - UNLV - which each carded 581 two-round totals.

Holder turned in a +1 round of 73 in Sunday's first round. But she charged up the leaderboard on Tuesday. She carded a birdie on her first hole of the day and racked up a total of five, while also playing bogey-free. Her 5-under 67 on Tuesday left her at 4-over (140) for the tournament to take second place. San Diego State's Sirene Blair (71-67-138 -6) took medalist honors.

Fanny Cnops finished 2-over and tied for 17th in the tournament. She opened with an even-par 72 on Sunday and wrapped up with a 74 (+2) on Tuesday. Kaitlyn Price was 2-over in both her rounds to finish at +4 and tied for 26th. Monifa Sealy was tied for 48th. She opened at even par on Sunday, but slipped to 7-over on Tuesday to finish +7 for the tournament. Robyn Doig finished tied for 58th with a +9 total after rounds of 78 and 75. Playing as an individual, Paola Robles was tied for 51st, after shooting 4-over rounds of 76 each day.

The Las Vegas event was UCF's final fall tournament for the season. The Knights will hit the links for a competition once again on Jan. 27 for the Florida One-Day Shootout.
