Bedford Cup Day Two Wraps Up

GAINESVILLE, Fla. ( - Action continued to heat up on the tennis courts in Gainesville for day two of the four-day Bedford Cup. Leading the way for UCF's women's team was the doubles combination of Caroline Eberhart and Josephine Haraldson.

Facing Stetson's Lindsey Cable and Marta Gonzalez in the round of 16, Eberhart and Haraldson cruised into the quarterfinals thanks to an 8-4 win. They will now look ahead to Saturday's schedule as they will go up against Kayla Rizzolo and Loreto Alonso-Martinez of USF in the doubles quarterfinals starting at 9 a.m.

Clare Mendell secured a singles victory in the consolation round of 32, topping USF's Hailey Grillo, 6-2, 6-1. Her next match will be against North Florida's Marileea Calderon.

UCF is playing against the following schools this weekend: host Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida A&M, USF, Stetson, Florida State, Bethune-Cookman and North Florida.
