TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - A successful run at the Bedford Cup came to an end Sunday for UCF as Riaan Du Toit and Inaki Espindola competed in the doubles championship. The pair, who won four matches at the four-day tournament, fell 8-1 to Norbert Nemcsek and Jack Findel-Hawkins.
The trip to the doubles championship for the two UCF newcomers was the highlight of a successful weekend on the Florida State campus for the Knights. Competing against in-state programs, the Knights claimed a total of 17 singles victories and five doubles triumphs.
Only underclassmen participated in the tournament for head coach Bobby Cashman's Knights. UCF will continue its fall campaign Oct. 11 at the ITA Regionals in Atlanta.
The Bedford Cup was the second event of the fall for UCF.
