ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF Head Coach George O'Leary announced Thursday that Jackie Williams has signed a financial aid agreement to join the Knights football program. The former UAB wide receiver will be a senior in 2013 and will be eligible to compete for the Black and Gold in 2014.

"This is my first time actually just getting to see the whole atmosphere (of UCF) because any other time we were on the bus and coming to the stadium," said Williams, who was at UCF's annual Countdown to Kickoff Luncheon Thursday. "But I really like the campus setup. I went and took a tour today and I fell in love with the campus. My parents, they liked it too. So it was a win-win."

Williams hails from Prichard, Ala., and is a graduate of Vigor High School, which also produced current UCF cornerback and redshirt freshman Jacoby Glenn.

In 2012, Williams paced the Blazers with 52 receptions for 799 yards and one touchdown. He also amassed 14 punt returns for 132 yards (9.4 average), highlighted by a 79-yard return for a touchdown vs. Marshall. On kickoffs, Williams ran back 10 kicks for 227 yards and a 22.7 average.

According to UAB, Williams had a reception in all 35 games that he played for the Blazers, which stands as the longest active streak among returning receivers in the country. He ranks fourth on UAB's career receptions chart with 140 and fourth with 1,733 receiving yards.

Williams, who played as a true freshman in 2010, posted 19 receptions for 145 yards in three games against UCF from 2010-12.
