ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF golfer Monifa Sealy picked up a big victory leading into her junior season with the Knights. Sealy took medalist honors, winning the individual stroke play competition at the 2013 Caribbean Amateur Team Championships, which took place recently at the Mahogany Run Golf Club in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Sealy also led her Trindad & Tobago squad to the team title. Sealy was 16-over for the tournament, easily besting the next closest individual by 13 strokes. She carded scores of 71 (+1) in the first and third rounds, while scoring 77 (+7) in both the second and fourth rounds.

Another UCF Knight, Paola Robles, was also involved in the tournament. She finished fourth as an individual and was 35-over for the four-round event. Robles led Puerto Rico to a runner-up finish in the team competition.

Sealy, Robles and their Knights teammates will get the 2013-14 season under way in less than a month. UCF opens the season at the Mo Morial, hosted by Texas A&M, Sept. 9-11 in College Station, Texas.
