BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF senior Kyle Wilshire was the low amateur at the recently-completed 94th Kentucky Open.
Wilshire finished tied for second in the three-day, 54-hole event held at The Club at Olde Stone from August 6-8. He finished the tournament at 4-under, just four strokes off the pace, and tied with three others for runner-up honors.
Wilshire was at or below par in all three rounds. He opened play with a 3-under 69 in the first round, followed up by a 1-under 71 in the second round and an even-par 72 in the third and final round of the event.
Wilshire and the UCF men's golf team open their 2013-14 season Sept. 6-8 at the Northern Intercollegiate in Sugar Grove, Ill.
