ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF women's golf team has added the two-time Southern Conference Player of the Year to its 2013-14 roster. Fanny Cnops has signed a UCF Financial Aid Agreement and will transfer from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, joining the Knights this Fall.

Cnops, a native of Belgium, will be a junior at UCF this fall after playing her first two collegiate seasons at UNCG. In her time with the Spartans, Cnops earned Southern Conference Player of the Year honors following both her freshman and sophomore seasons. She was also a two-time First-Team All-Southern Conference selection and was the league's Freshman of the Year in 2011-12.

"We, of course, are thrilled about adding Fanny to our team this year, Knights head coach Emily Marron said. I had the pleasure of coaching Fanny during a very successful freshman year at UNCG and I am excited to see her build on those accomplishments. She is a tremendously talented player, but an even better person who will be a welcome addition to our program. Adding Fanny to our incoming freshman class will give us the needed depth for our team to be nationally competitive."

Last season, Cnops posted four top-five finishes, eight top-20 placements and was in the top 25 in all 10 events, leading up to the NCAA Central Regional. She was the runner-up at the Southern Conference Championship in each of her first two collegiate seasons, as well.

During her first collegiate season, Cnops was UNCG's top finisher in all 10 of the Spartans' outings. She won two individual titles and added two runner-up finishes during her freshman campaign as well.

Cnops is also an accomplished international amateur. She represented Belgium at the World Amateur Team Championships in Turkey this past fall. Cnops won the 2011 German Ladies Amateur and won two amateur events in 2010 - the Belgian Masters and the King's Prize. She has also represented Belgium at the European Ladies Amateur Team Championship.
