ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF women's tennis signee Annika Hepp received a very prestigious honor from the IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis program. A product of the IMG Pendleton High School in Bradenton, Hepp earned the Nick Bollettieri Student-Athlete of the Year Award at a ceremony at the IMG Academy Golf Club.
The award was given to the top female student-athlete, not only for her efforts on court, but for the overall contribution to the spirit of the IMG Academy. For her achievement, her name was added to the Bollettieri Tennis honor board, to preserve her name for future generations of student-athletes to see.
Born in Germany, Hepp played tennis in Europe before moving to the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy. She held a No. 289 national ranking in Germany, and won several tournaments in singles.
In doubles, Hepp advanced past the quarterfinals in tournaments in Great Britain, Dominican Republic and Trinidad & Tobago. She started participating in International Tennis Federation events as well.
