ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) -- Incoming freshmen, Kristine Odaiyar (Ocala, Fla.) and Ashley Holder (Orlando) have both advanced to the 2013 USGA Women's Amateur Public Links championship to be played in Norman, Okla. at the Jimmie Austin Golf Club June 24-30.
The duo of Knight freshmen-to-be took part in the qualifying tournament at The Links at Boynton Beach in Boynton Beach, Fla. on Sunday.
Odaiyar shot 73, while Holder shot 74 and found herself in a playoff for the last remaining spots. Four golfers were tied for three qualifying positions. Holder birdied the second hole in the playoff to be the first player in from the playoff.
Both Odaiyar and Holder also advanced to the WAPL championship last year as well. Odaiyar qualified for the match-play portion of the championship in 2012, falling in the second round.
