ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the seventh straight year year, the UCF men's golf team will be heading to an NCAA Regional Championship. The NCAA announced the field for the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship Monday night.

The No. 39-ranked Knights will face a stacked field at the ASU Karsten Golf Course on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. UCF will enter the regional tournament as the No. 7 seed in the region. No. 3 UCLA is the top seed in the tournament, followed by No. 9 Duke, No. 15 Georgia, No. 22 Texas A&M, No. 27 Clemson and No. 33 Vanderbilt.

We're looking at as strong a field as there is in any of the regional sites, UCF head coach Bryce Wallor said. It's the type of golf course, where if you are a team that likes to shoot low scores, you can have some success. We feel good about it. I like our team and I like our chances. It is a golf course you've got to go low on.

Wallor said he wasn't surprised to be heading west. This is the third time in the last four years that UCF will play in the West Regional.

They moved teams all over the place this year, Wallor said. They spread out the Florida schools a lot. I was happy to see four or five schools from Florida make the regionals. It really shows the strength of college golf in our state.

The six regional tournaments will be held May 16-18, with the five lowest-scoring teams and the low-scoring individual not on one of those teams will advance to the finals. The NCAA Championship finals will be held May 28-June 2 in Atlanta, Ga.
