ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - A pair of UCF women's tennis players are not only training over the summer, but they are also helping with the wheelchair tennis program at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center in Plantation, Fla.
Following successful freshmen seasons with the Knights, Clare Mendell and Caroline Eberhart are working with instructor Jennifer Wiley to continue to build the event which is held every other Thursday night. The program has many participants at different levels of play.
The center received a $17,000 grant from the United States Tennis Association's "Share the Love Program" in 2012, and it has greatly helped the community ever since.
Mendell and Eberhart recently wrapped up their seasons with the Black and Gold, which finished with a 14-8 record and its most victories in more than a decade.
