ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's soccer team had a stellar spring in the classroom, posting a 3.29 squad GPA, the best spring term mark in program history.

"Our players should be commended for their hard work in the classroom," UCF head coach Bryan Cunningham said. "Our academic advisor, Adam Hubbard, does a great job and deserves a ton of credit for assisting our guys."

The Knights excelled academically throughout the 2012-13 year. In December, Shawn Doyle, Eduardo Jimenez and A.J. Nelson earned their bachelor's degrees. Kyle Cox received his degree in May and Andrew Quintana is slated to graduate this summer.

In November, Nelson was named to the Conference All-Academic Team. The finance major was one of eight squad members who earned C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll accolades during the year with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Cox received a major honor during UCF's annual student-athlete awards banquet in April. The Orlando native was presented with the Dr. Richard Lapchick Award, which measures athletic and academic achievement in addition to community service.
