ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Earlier this week, VSI Tampa Bay FC of the United Soccer Leagues announced it has signed former UCF midfielder Andrea Rodrigues to its roster for the upcoming season.
The USL Women's League is comprised of 25 teams spanning four conferences across the country. Rodrigues will have her first opportunity to suit up this Friday at 7 p.m. against the Carolina Elite Cobras on Tampa's home turf at Plant City Stadium.
While at UCF, Rodrigues tallied 25 points through 76 games. Her tenure was highlighted by the 2010 C-USA regular season championship, the 2012 C-USA Tournament title and a trip to the 2011 Elite Eight. During three of her seasons at UCF, she also balanced her time as a starter for the Portuguese National Team.
After her time with the Knights, Rodrigues was invited to preseason with the Boston Breakers of the National Women's Soccer League. She was listed on the roster for preseason matches against Boston College and Sky Blue FC in March.
