PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 41-ranked UCF women's golf team is in eighth place after the first two rounds at the Marsh Landing Invitational, hosted by Jacksonville University. The 20-team event opened with two rounds of play Monday and will wrap up with the third and final round on Tuesday.
The Knights were consistent on Monday, shooting a 9-over score of 297 in both rounds. Monifa Sealy paced UCF, carding back-to-back rounds of 72 (+1) to finish 2-over for the day. Paola Robles was 3-over for both of the first two rounds to go +6 for the day.
Carolin Pinegger and Robyn Doig were both +7 for the day. Pinegger opened with a +2 round and came back in the second round with a +5. Meanwhile, Doig was +7 in the first round, but rebounded with the Knights' best round of the day in the second round, shooting an even-par 71. Kaitlyn Price is also taking part for UCF, shooting +3 in the first round and +5 in the second to go 8-over for the day.
No. 41 Purdue leads the tournament at 2-under, while No. 28 Iowa State is five strokes off the lead at 3-over and No. 17 Texas Tech is third at +4. The third and final round is slated for Tuesday morning. Follow along with live scoring by clicking here.
