ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Amidst an eight-game road trip, the UCF baseball team will delve back into Conference USA play this weekend when it heads to Memphis for a three-game set beginning Friday night at 7:30 p.m. EDT. The series will continue Saturday at 3 p.m. EDT and conclude Sunday at 2.

All of the weekend's action from FedEx Park will be streamed live on Stretch Internet radio. Pregame will begin 15 minutes prior to first pitch.

After dropping their home opener in C-USA to Southern Miss last weekend, 2-1, the Knights (18-12, 4-2) will look to bounce back on the road where they have been quite impressive since the 2011 season. In its last nine series away from home in league play, UCF has compiled a 21-6 record with eight series wins and four sweeps.

Runs will be at a premium this weekend as the Tigers (15-13, 2-4) lead the league with a 2.74 ERA, while the Knights rank fourth with a 3.34 mark.

Friday night will see ace RHP Ben Lively (5-2, 0.35 ERA) faceoff against the first of three lefties the Knights will see in junior Sam Moll (4-2, 3.02 ERA). Lively was able to go six shutout innings while scattering three hits in his April 27, 2012 win over the Tigers. Moll went seven frames while allowing nine hits and five runs (four earned) en route to Memphis' 6-5 triumph the following day.

On Saturday, LHP Chris Matulis (3-1, 3.66 ERA) will get another crack at the Tigers after he tossed 6 2/3 innings of three-run ball on April 28, 2012. He will be opposed by Erik Schoenrock (3-2, 2.11 ERA) who went 6 1/3 innings against Houston last weekend and surrendered just one hit while striking out 11.

UCF's Sunday starter is TBD, but will face the final southpaw in Alex Gunn (2-2, 1.29 ERA). Overall, Memphis has started a left-handed pitcher in its last 31 games, including all 28 in 2013.
