ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - For the first time in 2013, the UCF baseball team has cracked the national polls, checking in Monday at No. 30 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper rankings. It is the third consecutive year that the Knights (25-19, 11-7) have been nationally ranked.

This is the 12th time that UCF has appeared in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll in program history. Its highest ranking in those standings came on April 23, 2012, when the Knights reached No. 11 after a road sweep of Tulane. Last year, the Black & Gold were ranked each week from the preseason to postseason.

Winners of its last five, UCF earned its first home sweep of a Conference USA opponent last weekend, topping No. 30 Houston in all three contests. The Knights totaled a .301 batting average while posting a meager 1.00 ERA in 27 innings. It was also the first home-weekend sweep of a ranked opponent since No. 11 Alabama lost three straight at the baseball complex on Feb. 23-25, 2001.

UCF will look to continue its winning ways when it welcomes Bethune-Cookman to the baseball complex on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The contest with the Wildcats will be the second-to-last "Dollar Knight" in 2013.

Single-game tickets can be purchased by calling 407-UCF-1000 or visit the baseball tickets page. Stay up-to-date on all the latest news by visiting UCFAthletics.com and following the team on Twitter (@UCF_Baseball) and Facebook.
