GULF SHORES, Ala. (UCFAthletics.com) -- Four of UCF's golfers were 11-over at the conclusion of the Conference-USA Championship Wednesday at The Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club. The No. 44-ranked Knights finished third as a team.
UCF (+41) entered the final round four strokes back of the runner-up position. The Knights made up ground on Wednesday, but No. 48 East Carolina (+40) held off the UCF charge and held on to the runner-up spot. 20th-ranked Tulane ran away with the title, putting up a score of +13. No. 33 SMU was fourth at +50.
Individually, Carolin Pinegger, Paola Robles, Robyn Doig and Monifa Sealy all wrapped up play with three-round totals of 227 (+11) to tie for 12th as individuals. Kaitlyn Price was just two strokes back at 229 (+13) to finish in a tie for 19th.
The Knights will now await word on an at-large bid to an NCAA Regional Championship. Those six regional tournaments begin May 9 at various sites across the country.
