Knights Third After Two Rounds at C-USA Championship

TEXARKANA, Ark. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf program will enter Tuesday's third and final round of the Conference USA Championships 10 strokes off the pace. The Knights sit in third place at even-par after two rounds of play at the Texarkana Country Club.

No. 37-ranked UCF entered play on Monday in second place at 3-under, but posted a +3 score of 291 in the second round. Meanwhile, No. 29 Houston carded an 8-under total of 280 in the second round to zoom into a tie for first place with No. 20 SMU. UAB (+6) and Marshall (+7) round out the top five in the 12-team event.

Ricardo Gouveia is leading the way for UCF, posting back-to-back scores of 71 to sit at 2-under for the tournament. He is in sixth place and six strokes back of SMU's Bryson Dechambeau, who has put together back-to-back rounds of 68 to come in at 8-under for the tournament.

UCF's Jose Joia is in a tie for seventh. He carded a 1-under 71 Monday and is -1 for the tournament. Greg Eason is currently 1-over after shooting a +1 73 in the second round. Kyle Wilshire (tie-19th) is +2 after carding a 4-over 76 Monday to round out the UCF scoring. McCabe Buege is also taking part for the Knights and is currently +13 and in a tie for 57th.

Tuesday's third and final round is slated to tee off at 8 a.m. The Knights will take the course beginning at 8:50 a.m. Follow along with live scoring by clicking here.
