ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF softball team wraps up its 2013 home schedule this weekend as it is set to host Southern Miss in a three-game Conference USA series at the UCF Softball Complex. The two teams will face-off in a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday, before concluding the series with Senior Day at 12 p.m. Sunday.
The Knights (24-23, 5-13 Conference USA) hold a 15-7 all-time advantage over the Golden Eagles (11-35, 1-13) and have won 10 of the last 11 meetings. UCF fans can watch and listen to all the action live on UCF All-Access with the voice of UCF softball, Eric Lopez. Following the series finale on Sunday afternoon, head coach Renee Luers-Gillispie and the Knights will honor the squad's four seniors, Alex Hartshorn, Lauren Aldridge, Hailey Barraco and Danielle Brewer, in a short ceremony to recognize their dedication and contributions to the UCF softball program.
The Black and Gold are coming off a 5-4 nine-inning victory at Bethune-Cookman on Wednesday. This weekend series is crucial for the Knights as they are looking to gain as much ground as they can in the C-USA standings.
