ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Head coach Stephanie Nickitas announced Wednesday that Cortney Cesarini has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Knights in 2013-14. Training at the United Tennis Academy in Bradenton with coach Jeff Russell, she earned four-star status from TennisRecruiting.net.

"We are very happy to have Cortney join our team next fall," Nickitas said. "She has a dynamic, all-court game that I am excited to see develop even further. Cortney also brings a strong work ethic and a hard-working mentality with her as well. She is going to be a great addition to our program."

Privately trained for six years by Nick Bollettieri at the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy, Cesarini started playing tennis at 6 years old, and attended PA Cyber Charter School since seventh grade. She has claimed numerous tournament titles in the state of Florida, while reaching the finals in several regional events.

Cesarini is currently ranked No. 13 in the state of Florida and No. 70 in the nation. She played at the No. 1 position for Florida in the Zonal 16's, and also received offers from Louisville, Minnesota and Appalachian State as well as interest from Auburn and Colorado.

Cesarini joins Annika Hepp, who signed in December, as members of the UCF women's tennis signing class.
